School Resource Officer Unit

The S.R.O. (School Resource Officer) program places emphasis on preventing juvenile delinquency by developing a positive and favorable community & student/ law enforcement relationship. Our SRO's focus is on rapport building, attitude change, counseling, and resource assistance. In the event that a crime occurs on school grounds, the SRO will be responsible for taking appropriate law enforcement action. The HSPD SRO Program currently consists of three school resource officers, two assigned to High Springs Community School and one to First Christian Academy.

Sgt. Jason Taylor

Sgt. Jason Taylor has been with High Springs Police Department since 2014. Sgt. Taylor oversees the School Resource Officer unit and is a certified K-9 handler with K-9 Justice. Justice is trained to detect weapons and ammunition.

SRO Debra Parker

School Resource Officer (SRO) Debra Parker joined High Springs Police Department in 2021, after twenty-seven years with the Gainesville Police Department. Fourteen of those years were spent as SRO at Gainesville schools.

SRO Parker is currently assigned to First Christian Academy.

SRO Montana Sayers
