Vice Mayor Bob Barnas
Elected: 2011
Current term expires: 2014

Dear High Spring’s residents, taxpayers and business owners,
I have lived in High Springs or Alachua County since 1999. When I came to the area in 1998, my visits to High Spring and its small town charm, its friendly people told me this was where I wanted to make my home.  In the mid 2000’s I became involved in local meetings and politics. I have seen the swinging of the pendulum from too much growth back to small town charm and never seen a commission solve these issues. It is now time we do this and keep the charm, and grow. We must first concentrate on our tourism base with the resources we have been given by nature. As I came here in my first few visits, I saw the many natural wonders of the springs and rivers. I believe, as the many I have spoken to feel, we need to keep them clean, safe and beautiful. We must invite the world to our backyard. This is my main goal this year. I will update this letter monthly.
Thank you for your votes at the ballot box, and your confidence in me.
Bob Barnas
Vice-Mayor
High Springs City Commissioner
